Sandie Chatterton

Sandie has worked in the legal industry since 1981 working in regional areas of Queensland before moving herself and her family to Brisbane in 2005.

After working in the Brisbane CBD, she decided that a general law practice in the suburb where she lived was her calling and opened up SKC Lawyers in 2012.

Since that time, Sandie has enjoyed working with the local community and assisting them with a wide range of legal matters centralised around Family Law property settlements and parenting matters, Wills and Estates, leasing, business sales and purchases, conveyancing.

Sandie adopts a common sense and practical approach in an attempt to resolve matters promptly and cost effectively. If there are specific issues which need to be dealt with, she will prefer to move towards mediation before taking a step moving the matter into Court. However, if there is a high level of conflict, sometimes Court may be the only track a matter can be resolved and Sandie represents clients at all stages of the Court process by way of negotiation and throughout the litigation process including interim hearings, conciliation conferences and, if necessary, trials.

Sandie takes the approach that clients need to be able to communicate what they want to achieve in their matters but she provides them with guidance as to how to achieve that goal or close to it and whether it is just and equitable and reasonable in all of the circumstances.
